Urgent SK News

We interrupt your quiet Thursday evening with some major news coming out of the SK corner of the known universe. Ladies and gentlemen, it has been rumored (and possibly confirmed) that Ted Christopher is out of the DiPesa-owned 81. His possible replacement is the most recent name in the Whelen Modified Tour record book and top rookie in the 2006 season...James Civali. I'm guessing this had to do with Christopher's comment during his interview Friday night, calling the motor he was using a "Pettit air compressor". It blew up after turning the quickest lap of the feature, by the way.

And could Bob Potter be subbing for Bo Gunning? According to sources, Potter might strap into the 84 ride as Gunning's sitting out Friday night's race. Remember...after an incident in the SK Modified feature, Gunning decided to exit the infield after stirring up a dust cloud.

All of this will be answered tomorrow.

(News for this was collected at the Making Laps message board.)
