Can't Be Too Optimistic...

Could the start of June signal more wet stuff on the way? If so, I can't be feeling too optimistic about outdoor plans Friday night. Sure, it's been three weeks since the last Stafford event and even then it wasn't as pleasurable as I thought it would be. As those who were at that know, it was hot as hell in a handbasket for the most part of that day and it suddenly got colder at around the start of the Late Model feature. And then...well, it was the last time any of us even got a feature green flag lap in the books.

As I sat in front of the TV this afternoon and the weather report flashed on my TV screen, I felt sick. I saw the literal rain in the forecast for Friday. Trust me, it wasn't what my optimistic heart (before then) wanted to see. Not only did the meteorologist mention a passing cold front--something that would be much needed up here--but he did have a full day of rain. What's up with that? Apparently Mother Nature thinks Friday nights suck. Why don't we start a tradition like Thompson and start our season in June? That would work a lot better than sitting out the rain for a possible fourth week in a row.
