At around 7pm, the National Anthem is performed, precursored by awards from Riverhead and the Bud Pole Award. Then we get to features! Stafford had this done once before changing it a couple of days ago, but this is the order they've got:
- Late Model 16 LCQ (if necessary)
- SK Modified 21 Means 21 LCQ (if necessary)
- SK Light feature (20 minute time limit)
- SK Modified feature
- Late Model feature
- Limited Late Model feature (20 minute time limit)
- New England Dodge Dealers 150
- DARE Stock feature
Call me crazy, but most of the people in attendance are going to leave after the checkered flag of the NE Dodge Dealers 150. The DARE Stocks are last again, meaning not a lot of people will be there to see them run. If you want people to watch them, I suggest someone puts a division like the Late Models or SK Modifieds (hint, hint to those who are reading this and have now recieved an idea from their inner lightbulb) at the end of the program, only because the place is near barren. Perhaps it's a matter of traffic. Well, it's still a zoo to get out of the parking lot afterwards, but I think most people don't understand that the DARE Stocks have been one of the better divisions at the track this year. Or is it because a couple of their races have gone through without a caution? Hmmm... The questions arise.
Anyway, tune in this weekend to see if Donny Lia wins his sixth race this season and third straight at Stafford. See if there's a four-peat in the SK Modifieds with Woody Pitkat trying to cut into Ted Christopher's lead even more. See what else happens, because I'm running out of "see ifs". I promise, it'll be action no matter what day of the week this thing's held. Though it's been a little over a year since the last time Stafford had to move a Whelen Modified Tour race due to weather issues. (Last year, they ran on the Fourth of July. I remember coming in from the beach to see where everyone was in the SK feature.) So stick around, and you will not miss a single bit of action. Until I find out what day they're racing, you take good care now, you hear?
