Friday News and Notes

Hi. Here are a few stories (from the Stafford site) with information on events happening this week or in the final month of racing.

+ Tonight, you have two Limited Late Model features. One is a make-up date from July. (This is the final make-up race from that date in July where the power got knocked out at the track.) Dan Flannery has a six-point lead over Andrew Durand coming into the night. That lead was bigger three (race) weeks ago. He's going to try to regain what he lost. This is also the first time the Limiteds will run two races in the same night.

+ In September (mainly September 10), there will be a new kind of modified racing tour at Stafford. They're called the Modified Racing Series. They're like the Tour cars - they're even classified as Tour-type cars when they're at an event like Seekonk and the North-South Shootout - but they have their own little style of racing. Instead of time trials, there are heats to set the field. Their features are mainly shorter than the Whelen Modified Tour. But it's still a tour. And in September, they'll make their first ever trip to Stafford for the Shark Cycle 100. Expect a few of the Stafford SK drivers to jump in on the action.
